Brighton Park is located on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois. Bordered on the north by the former Illinois & Michigan Canal and the current Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, on the east by Western Avenue, on the south by 51st Street, and on the west by Central Park Avenue and the west side of Corwith Yards.

A growing Hispanic population in Brighton Park has influenced not only the businesses, but restaurants and social events as well. Brighton Park has easy access to the downtown Loop. You will find the neighborhood is a mix of residential areas, commercial zones, industrial works and transportation consisting of primarily railroad and trucking facilities.

Transportation

Two major railroad landmarks are located in Brighton Park. The Corwith Intermodal freight facility, which was once known as Corwith Yards, covers approximately a square mile, and is one of the major industrial features of Brighton Park.

Brighton Park Junction is the second one, near Western Avenue and Archer Avenue. Stevenson Expressway and Interstate 55 is used by commuters as well. Chicago Midway Airport is two miles away also. Easy access to the downtown Chicago loop.

Neighborhood Attractions

Kelly Park offers a lot of open space and even a community center here, which is used for events and neighborhood meetings. Brighton Park Playlot on Richmond Street is also very kid-friendly.

El Campestre is another hotspot where you can get glazed and grilled chicken with a generous portion of rice and beans, prepared from an age-old family recipe. El Salvador Restaurante is also a favorite. Their made-from-scratch corn tortillas topped with your choice of cheese, chicken, refried beans or even fried pork rind are delightful and their addictive empanadas.
