Sauganash

Sauganash is part of the Forest Glen area which is located in the far northwest side of Chicago. Cook County forest preserves are here and start at Foster Avenue all the way through to suburban Niles.  You will not see the same city landscapes of factories, skyscrapers that you do in other Chicago city neighborhoods.  It has the feel of being in the country. Sauganash is a very family oriented community  and residents have lived here for many years. The Chicago River sprawls along the neighborhood giving it a sense of peace and quiet. It is one of the reasons people like to live here.

Other cities included in the north and northwest side of Chicago are Sauganash Park, Edgebrook, Forest Glen, Norwood Park,  Edison Park, Jefferson, Portage Park, Peterson Park, Mayfair, Park Ridge, Lincolnwood, Skokie, Niles, Glenview, Northbrook and Wilmette.

Edgebrook which borders the neighborhood of Sauganash was once part of it.  The Forest Glen neighborhood is bordered by the Chicago River to the North, Foster Ave to the South, Cicero Ave to the East and the Metra Milwaukee District North line to the West.

Real Estate

Sauganash is known as part of the "bungalow belt".  Sauganash, which runs from Bryn Mawr Avenue to Devon Avenue, and from Pulaski Road to Cicero Avenue, offers a city address with a suburban country lifestyle. There has been some new condo construction in recent years.  Sauganash real estate has been on the higher side than other Chicago neighborhoods.

Sauganash  has been seeing a lot of tear downs with larger oversized homes being built making some residents unhappy although it has increased property prices in the area.
