West Rogers Park (West Ridge)

West Rogers Park also known as West Ridge, is located on the far North Side of Chicago. At one time it was considered part of the Rogers Park Community.  Real estate agents began calling the West Ridge neighborhood West Rogers Park in the 1970s. It is bounded by Howard on the North, on the east by Ridge Boulevard, Western Avenue, and Ravenswood Avenue, the south by Bryn Mawr Avenue and Peterson Avenue, and on the west by Kedzie Avenue and the North Shore channel of the Chicago River.

West Ridge has a multi-ethnic culture. You will also find historic mansions on Ridge and Lunt Avenues and cultural institutions such as St. Scholastica Academy. Great restaurants on Devon Avenue serving especially Indian and Pakistani food, as well as Thai, Russian and Middle Eastern.

West Rogers Park Attractions

West Rogers Park attractions include the Swedish American Museum Center. Also Indian Boundary Park which includes a duck-filled lagoon, public zoo and a Tudor-style field house, that not only hosts a theater program but various arts and culture classes year round. There are tennis courts, a spray pool in the summer, a playground and live concerts. Something for all ages.

West Rogers Park is also close to downtown Chicago attractions Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Sears Tower Skydeck, Hancock Observatory, Lincoln Park Zoo, Garfield Park Conservatory, Lincoln Park Conservatory, Adler Planetarium, The Field Museum, Museum of Science and History, Art Institute of Chicago and other Chicago attractions.
